Trail Riding
Watch Lake Lodge offers two well supervised rides daily, at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm
except Sunday's. On Thursday at 6:00 pm they have an Adult Ride for
camp guests only. On Saturday there is a picnic lunch ride,
where riders and non-riders meet by the lake and have lunch together.
Up to 25 riders at one time can be accommodated and they can be as young
as 7 years old. Three or four experienced wranglers are on each ride. Everyone
from beginners to advanced are welcome, "We can handle you all".
|
Every day there are different trail rides supervised by experienced
wranglers who pick out a horse suitable to your experience and ability.
Trail rides are approximately 2 hours long, with a short "stretch time"
at the halfway point. Quite often you will see cattle, wildlife and
waterfowl. Inexperience need not be a deterrent, as the wranglers will
teach you the simple rules for handling horses and how to ride. Everyone
gets our individual attention before the ride starts off so that we are
all comfortable & have been able to express any concerns. Our rides are
"Fun for the whole family"!
There are riding boots "on the house" for those who wish to use them.
You do not have to be a camp guest to join in on a ride but a reservation
is required.
Wednesday is "Cowpoke Day" when a small number of
riders (4) can join Dimps checking and/or moving the cow herd. Lunch is
supplied and this ride is an all day ride (10:00am to 5:00pm) - which
will likely include a Cattle Drive! This ride is for
Watch Lake Lodge Guests only, and riders must be experienced and meet
Dimps' approval.
